My Story
When our son Ben was diagnosed with absence epilepsy, we got the care, guidance and support we needed from Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The team were simply amazing with Ben and Kate and I. On the spectrum of childhood illness, Ben's diagnosis was never directly life threatening, but knowing that he could 'blank' at any moment, meant something as simple as walking along the street could quickly become life threatening. A constant worry for us sending him out into the world. But after a battery of tests at GOSH and a truly consultative approach to his treatment protocol, the medication kept him seizure free – and at time of writing, Ben is seizure-free and off all medication.
At the other end of the spectrum, GOSH treats the most seriously ill children from across the UK and sees the most rare and difficult-to-treat childhood cancers.
I'm proud to be part of the Charity of the Year team for the 2023 TCS London Marathon to help take the research, technology, facilities and care GOSH delivers to the next level.
By sponsoring me, you are making an impact in helping GOSH give children with cancer the extraordinary care, expertise and facilities they need.
There’s still a long way to go. But every mile matters. And we'll get there together.
