My Story
Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, about 600 children and young people from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. As soon as I found at GOSH was the charity of the year for the 2023 London Marathon, I knew I had to run it for them to give back for everything they did for my son Jaiden.
On 23rd September 2021 my son Jaiden who was born on the 4th August 2021 was one of those 600 children for that day. After suffering a haemorrhage in his brain, he was taken into PICU (Paediatric Intensive Care Unit) and subsequently underwent life saving surgery on his brain.
Since the surgery he has thankfully returned home and continues to gradually improve each day. It's a long road to recovery but without GOSH this could have been a very different fundraising story.
I can honestly say you never want your child to end up at GOSH but in the same breath if your child needs the best medical care available then there is no place in the world you would rather they end up.
If you would like to support some of Jaiden's additional treatments directly, please let me know and I will provide a link to his Go Fund Me page.
