My Story

This year I will again be running the London Marathon and raising money for the Duchenne Family Support Group.  This group, run by families affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, supports affected families through a number of ways whether that be subsidising holidays, fostering local support networks or their free helpline.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is a life-limiting, progressive muscle wasting disease that currently has no cure with symptoms generally first affecting children between the ages of 2-3.  

My connection to this group comes through a friend, former colleague, and Harrison Ford's best mate Paul Chandler who's son was diagnosed with DMD.  Paul and his family's courage, positivity, and selflessness in supporting other families alongside their own has been inspiring to me and many others.  I hope that whatever money we can raise will go some way to help families deal with this tortuous disease.
