Help Tom fight for mental health

My Story

If you’re a man in New Zealand, you’re more likely to die from suicide than you are from diabetes, a car accident, COVID-19, or almost every form of cancer.

In the United Kingdom, suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45.

I have lost my father and now my brother to suicide.

It doesn’t have to be this way.

In April, I’m running the London Marathon to fight for mental health.

I’m raising awareness and support so that everyone experiencing a mental health problem gets support and respect.

I’m teaming up with MIND, a charity which provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

£10 helps MIND answer calls to their Infoline, giving people the vital support they need.

£50 can help them campaign for better mental health services from the Government.

£100 can pay the cost of an Infoline advisor for a whole day.

More money reaches more people. And saves more lives.

No one should have to face a mental health problem alone. And with your help, they won’t.

I know this run will be painful, I know it will be exhausting. But so is depression. So is anxiety. So is bipolar. And that journey doesn’t last 42kms. For many, it lasts a lifetime.

I dedicate this run to my brother, Sam, and my father, Eric, and to anyone who ever feels like they’re not made for this world.

You are loved. And you matter.
