My Story

So excited and privileged (if not a little nervous!) to have been given the opportunity to run the 2023 London Marathon for the Duchenne Family Support Group Charity (DFSG).

DFSG is a charity that offers advice, support, days out and accessible holidays, as well as a vital community for families who have someone with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). It is an honour to run for DFSG knowing the incredible support they are, a friend who has a son with DMD said, 'DFSG is a small charity with big hearts, they are there for us  families in so many ways and support us through tough times, we know we have them to lean on when needed.'

Last year I ran my first full marathon at Stratford Upon Avon and thought I had ticked that distance off and it would be my one and only marathon. However, who could refuse this amazing opportunity to run London, with a couple of my best running buddies, whilst being able to raise much needed funds for this fantastic cause? So the running shoes are well and truly back on for the long haul, the muscle rub, sports drinks and jelly babies have been stock piled and the training has begun! If you feel you could make a donation, however small, it will be very much appreciated.
