My Story
I only started running in October and whislt it didn’t come naturally (in other words I hate it!) I decided that I would embrace it for the good of others and try my luck running the London Marathon.
Over the last couple of years the Royal Free has played an important part in the life of my family. My Dad, who passed away in December, was a recipient of their incredible care and certainly helped to prolong his life as he battled pancreatic cancer. He had amazingly skilled surgery during Covid and more recently chemotherapy which was always delivered with a smile and a kind word. Furthermore, my step daughter was treated there too at the Eating Disorder Unit who again helped her significantly.
The Royal Free Charity helps patients and their families, whether those who live locally to the hospitals or those who come from further away to use the trust’s specialist services. They enhance the experience of patients throughout their hospital journey, through the services they provide directly and the programmes and equipment they fund on the wards.
They support the staff of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, so they can deliver the best possible healthcare.
They assist researchers working in their hospitals and partner institutes, enabling the Royal Free London to have both a local impact and the potential of national and global reach.
The Royal Free is our local hospital, my sister works there too as a Consultant. The staff do a super job and I shall be enormously grateful if you would help me to raise funds for the Royal Free Charity.
