About us
For the 2023 TCS London Marathon, World Villages for Children is working in partnership with ACCORD Hospice near Glasgow. All donations to our London Marathon runner's fundraising page will be split between World Villages for Children and ACCORD Hospice.
You might wonder what an international children's education charity has in common with a local hospice in Scotland and why we are partnering together. We came together for the London Marathon as ACCORD Hospice has a place in the marathon, but no runner. World Villages for Children has a keen ultra marathon runner, Ross, who is an alumna from our Philippines programme, but we had no place. Through the kindness of ACCORD Hospice, Ross is now able to achieve her dream of running in the London Marathon this April and we get to partner with local charity in Scotland, who provide essential care and compassion to people facing life limiting illness.
About World Villages for Children
World Villages for Children supports the Sisters of Mary humanitarian educational programmes in six countries around the world, giving care and education to the world's more impoverished children. Our mission is to end poverty through education.
About ACCORD Hospice
ACCORD Hospice is here to provide palliative and end of life care to people living with or affected by a life limiting illness in Renfrewshire and parts of East Renfrewshire.
Both World Villages for Children and ACCORD Hospice support people in the most crucial moments of life, impacting not just the primary beneficiaries, but their families and communities too. Our values of compassion and care align and we are proud to be partnering together for the 2023 TCS London Marathon.
