My Story

Hello! I’m Rhiannon, and I’m lacing up my trainers to run the 2023 London Marathon to raise money and awareness for the NSPCC. I’m excited (and more than a bit daunted) to get back into training to run through the capital for such a fantastic charity which works tirelessly to protect children from neglect and abuse.

The past few years have been particularly tough for children. Every 25 seconds, a child rings the NSPCC’s Childline helpline to speak to a counsellor. Childline’s volunteers have recently experienced record numbers of calls and messages from struggling children, highlighting how essential it is for them to have free, confidential access to help at any time of the day or night.

I’ve witnessed firsthand how the NSPCC’s vital work helps not only children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, but to prevent abuse from happening in the first place. The charity’s schools outreach programmes and local services make a real difference for children, their families and carers and together, we can help them to continue.

I know times are tough right now, and money’s tight (too tight to mention) for all of us, but any donations you’re able to spare will be gratefully received and sent straight towards funding improving the lives of vulnerable young people. I’m so, so grateful for your support—especially by the time I’m limping over the finish line!

Thank you so much for donating, on behalf of all the children
